Dr. Scott Young is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Optometry. He received post-graduate training in an Ohio State University affiliated Ocular Disease Residency Program and at the University of Cincinnati. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice at The Ohio State University College of Optometry and serves as the Residency Director for Ohio Eye Alliance’s ocular disease residency program. He also supervises the Ohio State University Optometry externship program at Ohio Eye Alliance. Dr. Young is the Practicum Site Coordinator for the Stark State College Ophthalmic Technology Program at Ohio Eye Alliance and he has been the Clinical Director at Ohio Alliance since 2001.
He has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1991 where he served on the zone board for seven years and was Zone Governor from 2006-08. Dr. Young has participated in research projects involving glaucoma, cataract, refractive surgery and retinal nerve fiber layer analysis utilizing laser technology. He has presented posters at the East West Eye Conference and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has also volunteered his professional skills to people in need in countries such as Brazil and Ecuador.
